Anshelevich Yuli
Vulfovich Anshelevich (01.23.1931. – 08.22.2004) – Clinician, scientist and teacher, habilitated Doctor of Medicine, professor, academician of the Latvian Academy of Sciences.
Born in the family of a physician, Wulf Abramovich (1894–1968) and Elena Timofeevna (1896–1968). Father studied medicine in Heidelberg and St. Petersburg, received a medical degree in Tartu, and in order to obtain the right to work in Latvia, according to the rules of that time, in 1925, he passed exams at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Latvia and until 1941 he worked in Rezekne. The family had 2 sons – Tsemach and Julius (both future doctors). During the war, the family was evacuated to Russia, after returning to Latvia in 1945 they moved to Riga.
